Bio

Bobby Bookout is a Texas based singer/songwriter. He was born and raised outside of a small South Texas town called Carrizo Springs where he grew up on Country and Tejano music… and a lot of Elvis Presley. A veteran of the U.S. Navy; he’s been all over the world but ended up close to home, planting roots outside of Austin where he and his wife met and had their two sons.

After his first stint in the Navy, he attended South Plains College in Levelland, Texas where he spent four years obtaining a two-year associates degree in Commercial Music, all while burying himself in Lubbock’s vibrant music scene. Many of the mega-talented musicians he plays with today are friends he made during this period, several of whom migrated from Lubbock to Austin around the time he did.

Bobby’s music spans a broad spectrum of genres but is heavy handed in R&B and Soul. Each song is a total departure from the last. His full length self-titled debut was released in June of 2010 earning an Independent Music Award in the ‘R&B Song’ category for his song “Broken Promises”. Other songs on that record were licensed for shows on several major TV networks including, A&E, Lifetime, and The History Channel. His second album, “B.” was released in October of 2018 earning an Independent Music Award in the ‘Acoustic Song’ category for “To Me”. To date, he has recorded Christmas covers of “Blue Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland” as well as music videos for, “Meant To Be”, “Broken Promises”, “Smooth”, “Little Eyes”, “Imagine”, and a live video cover of Elvis Costello’s, “Pump It Up”. A third studio album called “See” is in the works and several other projects are underway. Stay tuned!
